Q: How is PCS funded as a private Christian school?
A: Tuition provides the largest segment of funding to PCS. Other funds are derived from tax-deductible contributions, such as annual gifts to the Annual Fund and fundraisers.
Q: Are gifts to the Annual Fund considered tax-deductible contributions?
A: Yes! Any gifts to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible contributions.
Q: What does the Annual Fund provide for the school?
A: Tax-deductible gifts providing enhancements to student programs, improving technology, aiding in staff development, and allowing improvements to our facilities.
Q: What am I expected to contribute?
A: Each PCS friend and family must determine what amount they are to contribute and each gift is very important. When PCS seeks funding from other sources such as foundations and corporations, it is important to be able to illustrate the support of its family and friends.
Q: What about capital funds? Is PCS entering a Capital Campaign?
A: The future building and enhancement projects will require special funding to ensure completion. Campaign gifts are made in addition to contributions to the Annual Fund and often paid out over several years. In the coming school year you will be hearing more about the expansion and improvement of current PCS facilities.
Q: I already pay a lot in tuition and other fees, why should I give more?
A: Portsmouth Christian Schools is committed to having tuition cover all of our basic operating expenses. Your gift to the Annual Fund Campaign helps provide enhance student programs, improve technology, aid is staff development, and allow improvements to our facilities.
Q: When and how will I be asked to make contribution?
A: You may contribute to the Annual fund anytime throughout the year. You may choose to mail your gift to:

You may also make a pledge, which may be made in installment.
Q: If I make a pledge, when will I be expected to pay my pledge?
A: You may pledge now, and pay later. You may pay in installments. Pledges may be paid on a semi-annual, quarterly, or monthly basis. Reminder notices will be sent according to the instructions you indicate on your pledge form.
Q: What is a matching gift?
A: Matching gifts are often available from an employer's matching gift program. Please take the time to ask your Human Resources office for details on their matching gift program.
Q: When can I contribute to the PCS Annual Fund?
A: Anytime.
